ARAP: East Coast Relocation Project
The Commonwealth of Dominica, located in the Lesser Antilles of the Eastern Caribbean, is highly susceptible to hurricanes and significant weather events due to its geographical location and topography. The Atlantic hurricane season, from June 1st to November 30th each year, poses an extreme risk of catastrophic weather events. One such event, the trough system of November 2022, caused severe damage to the island, necessitating the relocation of affected individuals from the east coast.
